Cookie Policy
Cookies are small bits of text sent by our servers to your computer or device when you access our services.
They are stored in your browser and later sent back to our servers so that we can provide contextual content.
Without cookies, using the web would be a much more frustrating experience.
We use them to support your activities on our website. For example, your session (so you don't have to login again) or your shopping cart.
Cookies are also used to help us understand your preferences based on previous or current activity on our website (the pages you have
visited), your language and country, which enables us to provide you with improved services.
We also use cookies to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer
better site experiences and tools in the future.

Here is an overview of the cookies used on this website, and our relevant partners:
Necessary cookies
- The content of the website is stored and administered this platform. It places cookies, used to recognize you, as you navigate through the site.
- Session cookies are never written on the hard drive and they do not collect any information from your computer. Session cookies expire at the end of the user's browser session and can also become no longer accessible after the session has been inactive for a specified length of time, usually 20 minutes.
- When you book a ferry ticket, a new browser window opens with a booking dialogue. The booking dialogue uses 2 types of cookies. They are both ‘session cookies’, and they are automatically deleted, when you close your browser. They are used to differentiate between users by the system, and help avoid unnecessary strain on our booking system.
Performance cookies
These cookies collect information about how visitors use a website, for instance which pages visitors go to most often, and if they get error messages from web pages. These cookies don’t collect information that identifies a visitor. All information collected by these cookies is aggregated and therefore anonymous. It is only used to improve how the website works.
It could for example be tracking the number of visits or other information used for analysis, as well as questionnaires.
You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. Each browser is a little different, so look at your browser's Help menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies.
We do not currently support Do Not Track signals, as there is no industry standard for compliance.
Functionality cookies
These cookies allow the website to remember choices you make (such as
your language or the region you are in) and provide enhanced, more
personal features. The information these cookies collect may be
anonymised and they cannot track your browsing activity on other
websites.
Targeting cookies or advertising cookies
These cookies are used to track the user’s browsing habits across websites. The cookies can be used to profile users based on their searches, and the web pages they visit. These cookies may store data identifying the individual user or containing specific information about the user. Anonymous data may be shared with a third party.
- Ad This allows you to share content on social media. When you share content, Ad This generates a cookie that collects information on what pages you share and on what social media platforms.
- Cookies from Facebook are used to show a ‘Like’ button, and information about which of your friends’ ‘Like’ the content. Facebook also gives access to a statistical tool (Facebook Insights) that shows information on the use of Facebook.

Flash cookies
Flash cookies can also back up the data that is stored in a regular cookie. When you delete cookies using your browser controls, your Flash cookies are not affected. So a website that served a cookie to you may recognise you on your next visit if it backed up its now-deleted cookie data to a Flash cookie.
